Lemon Sun is going in to the studio with Dave Schiffman in Sept. (Dead Meadow, etc.) to do their first full length studio album. The new music is a slight departure from the previous with songs capturing a more American roots sound (Motown and Stax soul, Chicago blues, 60′s psychedelic, and folk are important inspirations).
For me, I saw this band before we even started Spaceland Recordings. I think that they were opening up for one of the Spaceland resident bands. Live they’re as tight as ever and they do know how to write pop songs that don’t end up sounding cheesy! Very much looking forward to the new stuff.
